Dentures

What are dentures?

Dentures are false, removable teeth made from various materials, such as metal or acrylic. They cover the gums to substitute for missing teeth and eliminate any issues that may arise due to gaps between the teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth may result in speech and eating difficulty. In some cases, all the teeth have to be removed and replaced.

Dentures fall into two categories, namely:

  • Full set (complete) dentures: Complete dentures cover the whole upper or lower jaw.
  • Partial dentures: A partial denture replaces one or several missing teeth.
