Dr. Jan A. Meyer

Dr Jannie Meyer matriculated at Point High School, Mossel Bay, where he continued to study dentistry (BChD) at the University of Stellenbosch. In 1987 he graduated as a dentist and continued to complete his 2 years national service at the Military (1987-1989).

He started working at a private practice in Tokai from 1989 - 1994. In 1994 he decided to start his own practice in Tokai, at his current address, where he permanently practices dentistry. He has also worked part time at a private dental practice in Clapham Junction, London, UK since 2002.

Dr Meyer's special interest in Surgery and Aesthetics allowed him to further his post graduate education in these fields.

In 1995 he completed his Post Graduate diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry and in 1999 he completed his Honours degree in Oral Surgery.

He also completed a number of international courses which include:

  • Branemark Certificate in Implantology (1993) - Frankfurt
  • Clinical Foundation of Orthodontics - (1992)
  • International Symposium of Osteology and bone grafting (1998) Venice
  • Soft tissue management course (2007) Heidelberg, Germany

Dr Meyer's advanced surgical experience allowed him to take an interest in Implantology. He currently has 19 years experience in the surgical placement of implants and has successfully restored numerous dental implants with crowns that were placed on the same day (immediate loading).

  • South African Association of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD)

With over 25 years experience, Dr Meyer's sound knowledge, clinical expertise, friendly and caring personality has been the basis for his long term success.

He is married to Igna and has two sons, Stephan and David. His hobbies and interests include golf and wine tasting, etc.
